As reported last week on spawn.com. They didn't really "reject" the product; it just seems they didn't have a clear plan on marketing it. They say the Manga piece didn't sell ... yet, most fans couldn't seem to find it. Catch-22.
Ultimately, not a big deal. We should have news this week about who will carry it.

Yeah, it does seem odd..... if you go by the boards people CAN'T FIND the Wal-Mart exclusive Spawn stuff in stores (S25 Raven, Manga, etc.), but Wal-Mart makes it sound like they sit around and rot on the shelves. No win for everyone so it seems.
Wal-Mart's loss in the end, 'cause whoever ends up with that Samurai 2 pack is gonna have a HOT seller based on the interest expressed on the boards!!

I think it is more a lack of understanding by the individual stores.
I did get a chance to talk to a WalMart manager who handles toys and sporting goods. Apparently they had another 10 cases of Manga Spawns in the back that they sent back for credit.
The problem was that it is looked as a TMP 2-pack. All those are lumped into the same with the general Manager there. He was looking at the number of Sports two-packs still on the shelf and refused to put any more 2-packs of any kind out until they sold. Considering they were all still there since October of last year, they weren't going to clear anytime soon. The remaining stock was sent back to the main warehouse for credit to the individual store.
The Gen Man didn't even realize that they weren't Sports, nor an exclusive to the store

This boggles my mind too. Everytime the Manga set has gone onto the shelves at my Wal-Mart it's gone by the next day. There is an NFL two pack thats been rotting there for quite some time though.

well, if it's a TRU exclusive, I may actually be able to buy this one at a store. If it's a target exclusive, I'll never see it. EB/Suncoast, I may have a chance...

Target would be the kiss of death for getting it.
